2007 <i>Discovery Series</i> Lectures

Biscayne National Park will once again be presenting monthly lectures on the park's diverse resources. The Discovery Series, hosted by the Coconut Grove Sailing Club at 2990 South Bayshore Drive, takes place at 7:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month from January through April 2007. In 2001, scientists taking a plant inventory in Biscayne National Park discovered a population of semaphore pricklypear cactus, one of the world's rarest plants. Previously known as only 9 plants in the lower Florida Keys, the new population numbered 570 plants...over 60 times the previous count.
