A Picnic at Porgy Key traveling trunk is a way for teachers from all over the country to take their students on a “picnic” to Porgy Key, once home to the pioneering Jones’ family. Students will learn about 100 years of cultural history at Biscayne National Park through the eyes of this remarkable African-American family. All of the materials needed to complete the curriculum-based activities are contained within the trunk we mail directly to your classroom!

If you added up all the different kinds of vertebrates (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals) in Grand Canyon, Yellowstone or Yosemite, you still wouldn't have the number of fish found in Biscayne National Park. You'll have to look closely to see many of them, including this grass porgy.
