The Friends of Bear Paw, Big Hole & Canyon Creek Battlefields is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting the National Park Service in preserving special places. The Friends Group seeks to enhance efforts toward preservation and education with a focus on balance and diversity. The Nez Perce Trail Foundation is major supporter of the Nez Perce National Historic Trail that is administered by the United States Forest Service. Because the trail goes through the Big Hole Valley and the park, the National Park Service also works closely with the trail on special projects.
