Winter splendor at Big Hole National Battlefield.

The Battlefield is open seven days a week. The park's hours are:

Winter hours begin November 14, 2010

Summer and Fall: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Winter/Spring: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

In addition the Park is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. The park will also be closed the Federal Holidays of December 24th and December 31st for 2010.

The road to the trailhead is closed for the winter. Walking into the camp is permitted. Snow shoeing and cross country skiing are permitted on the trails as soon as enough snow has fallen.

Did You Know?
Nez Perce riders rode the trail at the Bear Paw Battlefield commemoration in October 2010. The public is welcome at this annual event.
