  • Annual 60-Day ORV Closure for Wheeled Vehicles

    Beginning at 12:01 am Monday, June 2, the annual 60-day recreational ORV closure for all units of the Preserve that allow for wheeled ORV access will begin. The closure will be lifted on Friday, August 1. More »

Preserve Extending Comment Period on Commercial Services Plan Through February 9

Pedro Ramos, Superintendent of Big Cypress National Preserve, announced today that the deadline for comments related to the Preserve's Commercial Services Plan will now be close of business on February 9, 2009. This is an extension from the previously announced date of January 24, 2009.

Comments will also be accepted by email at bicy_superintendent@nps.gov or by postal mail at Big Cypress National Preserve, 33100 Tamiami Trail, East, Ochopee, FL 34141.
