Preserve Campgrounds to Close for Summer Season

Beginning Monday, May 13 through Friday, August 16 camping will be available at the Midway Campground and the "loop" in the Bear Island Campground within Big Cypress National Preserve. All other established campgrounds will be closed. Dispersed camping in the backcountry of the Preserve, where allowed, will continue. Campers are reminded that there is currently a campfire ban in effect within the Preserve due to fire severity.
