July Meeting of the Big Cypress ORV Advisory Committee

The Big Cypress National Preserve ORV Advisory Committee will hold their next meeting on Monday, July 21, 2008 beginning at 3:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Everglades City Community Center, 205 Buckner Avenue, Everglades City, Florida.

The meeting will be open to the public, and time will be reserved for public comment.

Written comments for Advisory Committee consideration may be sent to: Superintendent, Big Cypress National Preserve, 33100 Tamiami Trail East, Ochopee, FL 34141–1000, Attn: ORV Advisory Committee. You may also submit suggestions for discussion topics by clicking here.

Future meetings are scheduled for the following dates - September 23; November 17. Future press releases will be sent as meeting dates approach. Unless otherwise announced, meetings will be held in the same location and at the same time.

The ORV Advisory Committee was established pursuant to the Preserve’s 2000 Recreational Off-road Vehicle Management Plan and the Federal Advisory Committee Act of 1972 to examine issues and make recommendations regarding the management of ORVs within the Preserve.

Did You Know?
Airboats are one of the approved ways to access remote areas of Big Cypress National Preserve. Remember all Off-Road Vehicle access requires a valid permit, and visitors operating ORVs need to know the legal areas they can operate.
