Open 7 days per week 8:00 AM- 6:00PM

From early May 24, 2014 until Labor Day, the visitor center will be open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday-Sunday.

The visitor center will be closed on the following federal holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.

There are over 350 Abandoned Mineral land sites recorded in Bighorn Canyon, and even more are being discovered. These sites are the result of a mining boom, caused by the search for uranium in the production of nuclear weapons during the Cold War.
