The South District of Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area has scheduled some dates for law enforcement rangers to perform boat inspections.  The boat inspections will occur at the Crooked Creek Contact Station, which is across the road from the turnoff to Horseshoe Bend.  The dates and times for these inspections are listed below:

May 16 and 23 from 8:00 am - 12:00 noon

May 17 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Getting your boat inspection completed for the season on one of the dates listed above is encouraged.  Boat inspection will also be performed by appointment if those dates don't work for you.  Call Jessica Korhut at 307-548-5421 to set up an appointment for your boat inspection.

Boat inspections are regularly conducted by law enforcement staff at Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area during the season to ensure boats are properly equipped with all the required safety equipment.  Boat operators are subject to fines if caught operating on the lake without the required boat safety equipment.  Getting your boat inspection completed before you actually hit the docks will save on your recreational time later and will ensure that you've got the necessary equipment on your boat so your time on the lake is an enjoyable one.
