Bighorn Canyon NRA Requesting Public Comment On Proposed change To Current Entrance Fee.
Contact: Karen Schwab, 307-548-5402
All Public comments regarding the proposed fee change should be e-mailed to: e-mail us or via postal mail at: Bighorn Canyon NRA, Attn: Karen Schwab, 20 Hwy. 14A East, Lovell, WY 82431
The Daily Entrance fee will stay the same at $5.00 per vehicle. The proposed change is requested with the Bighorn Canyon NRA Annual Pass. The Annual Pass is currently $30.00 per year from the month of purchase. Previously, the Park issued up to 3 decals for vehicles registered to a single household. This change will replace the three decals and come in the form of a plastic card, similar to the current annual pass for all NPS fee areas (America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass). Each vehicle entering the Park with an Annual Pass, will be required to have someone in the vehicle as holder of the valid card. This change is being requested to make Bighorn Canyon NRA policies consistent with other park areas within the National Park Service.
Two public meetings are scheduled. On Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00pm, the meeting will be held in conjunction with a Trails Public Meeting at the Afterbay Contact Station in Fort Smith, Montana. On Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00pm, the same meetings will be held at the Cal S. Taggart Lovell Visitor Center in Lovell, Wyoming. Comments can also be made at the Parks website: www.nps.gov/bica. We welcome all comments.
