The Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area will present a summer speakers' series again in 2013. The presentations will take place at the Cal S. Taggart Lovell Visitor Center at 7 PM. The dates for the presentations are below:
vJune 13th Kim Barhaug will be performing a presentation on the Heart Mountain Relocation Camp, and she will be showing a movie about the camp.
vJuly 11th Chris Finley will be performing a presentation on the archeology of the Bighorn Canyon area. Chris worked as an archeologist for the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area before retiring in 2012.
vJuly 25th Emily Boyd and Dani Techentin will be performing a presentation on the bighorn sheep inside the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area. Emily and Dani are both graduate students from the University of Arkansas-Monticello performing research on the bighorn sheep.

Long before the Bighorn River was tamed by the Yellowtail Dam, the roiling waters through the canyon were feared. During spring snowmelt, the water turned into a raging torrent, a combination of whirlpools, rapids, and eddies.
