Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. Here at Bighorn Canyon we emphasize the importance of providing consistent, high-quality service to the public. As a Volunteer in Parks (VIP), you will receive the same training, supervision, recognition, and be held to the same quality standards as paid staff. As a VIP you will have the opportunity to assist Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area in diverse and innovative ways.



Some of these opportunities include but are not limited to:
· Coverage for both North and South District Visitor Centers
· Summer kayak programs
· Flower bed maintenance
· Summer campground programs
· Park tours
· Park surveys
· Fishing reports
· Photography
· Fencing
· Litter patrol
· Historic structure preservation
· Weed spraying
· AIS- boat inspections
· Assisting with library and museum collections
· Archeological surveying
· Bark Ranger trail patrol

Whether you're looking to volunteer just one time or wanting something long term we offer volunteer experiences for both! Some positions require a special skill, but most just require the want and willingness to volunteer. No matter what you choose to do we can guarantee that there will be a learning experience for everyone involved, and we are always open to new ideas.
