A rugged 27-mile backcountry road winds along the western flank of the Dead Horse Mountains. Great views and unparalleled solitude. Recommended for high-clearance vehicles only.

There are nine campsite locations with a total of eleven individual campsites along the Old Ore Road.

Did You Know?
Trash left behind by visitors is deposited into a landfill inside Big Bend National Park. An extensive recycling program sponsored by both the park and the park concessioner, Forever Resorts, Inc. works to cut down on the amount of trash deposited in this landfill.
