How to Get There
The Hannold Draw Primitive Campsite is located 4.8 miles north of the Panther Junction Visitor Center via the main park road to Persimmon Gap. The gravel/dirt access road is .25 miles to the campsite area.
Usual Road Conditions
The gravel access road is generally well maintained and accessible to all vehicles throughout the year, yet may become heavily rutted following heavy rains. Ask a Park Ranger for the latest road conditions.

Views
Good view of the Chisos Mountains to the south and the Dead Horse Mountains can be seen in the distant east. Hannold Draw is immediately to the east and often runs following a heavy rain.

This site is extremely open and does not offer any wind-blocks.
Remarks
This site is very large and easy to access. It is highly suitable for several tents and even large RVs.
This campsite has a horse corral for visitor use. This site may be reserved up to 10 weeks in advance for visitors with horses only. To reserve, call 432 477-2251.
There is no longer a sign on the road from Panther Junction to Persimmon Gap denoting this campsite; look carefully-the turn-off is 4.8 miles north of Panther Junction.
A backcountry use permit is required (available at visitor centers). Campers are responsible for regulations listed on the permit. Camping is in designated sites for minimal impact on the surrounding vegetation.
