Gasoline is available at two locations in the park operated by Forever Resorts Inc. The Panther Junction station, located just west of the visitor center, offers gas, diesel, and can undertake minor repairs. The gas station at Rio Grande Village is located in the store, and also provides propane.

Amon Carter Peak  

Did You Know?
Carter Peak (5,479'/1,670m), in the middle of the Window, is named for Amon Carter. Carter was instrumental in the movement to establish Big Bend as a national park. Through his Fort Worth newspaper the general public learned of the scenic qualities of the Big Bend.
