Arriving After Hours

Big Bend is very remote; it is not unusual for visitors to arrive after normal business hours. Park entrances are always open, but entrance fee stations and visitor centers may be closed before you arrive.

Entrance Fees

You may pay your entrance fee the following day at any open visitor center.
There is also an automated fee machine located at the Panther Junction Visitor Center. Entrance fees may be paid there by credit card after hours.

Camping and Lodging

Campers without reservations: self-register at a developed campground (Rio Grande Village, Chisos Basin, or Cottonwood).
Campers with reservations: check the map at your campground to locate your site number.

Backcountry camping permits are only issued during business hours at any visitor center; backcountry camping without a permit is prohibited.

RV hook-ups are located near the store at the Rio Grande Village. For availability and reservations, call 1-877-386-4383.

Chisos Mountains Lodge office hours are 7:00am to 9:00pm. For availability of rooms and reservations, call 1-877-386-4383.
