As part of the new film 'National Parks America's Best Idea,' Ken Burns and his production team visited Big Bend National Park to shoot footage and conduct interviews for the upcoming 6-part, 12-hour series on PBS.

On September 27th, 2009 the series (in high definition where available) will premiere on PBS and run for six consecutive nights. It will be available for purchase at the park at either Panther Junction or the Chisos Basin visitor center, as well online from our park bookstore, BBNHA. High definition (Bluray) and standard definition versions will be available.
