Available Resources

Bandelier has over 70 miles of backpacking trails. It is a packer’s paradise. If you choose to hike and camp in the back country of the park you must obtain a Backcountry Permit. These are available at the Visitor Center at no cost. Be prepared to outline your itinerary to the ranger who writes the permit. You must carry a topographical map of the park and know how to use it.
