MotorCities National Heritage Area is located in Southeast Michigan, and includes the cities of Detroit, Flint, and Lansing. Our function is to promote the history of the automobile through our partner museums.

There are year around attractions and activities, including car shows, cruises, historic home tours, and the famous Holiday Tours at The Henry Ford’s Greenfield Village.

The easiest way to get around the Area is by automobile. Major freeways connect all the major cities and venues, and each one is within a couple hours drive. of each other.

Did You Know?
The towering 120-foot tall flagpole was originally placed in the island in the center of the plaza and was formally dedicated on July 12, 1931. It was later moved to its present location in 1944.
