One Way: .5 mile
Average
Hiking Time: One hour
Season:
All year

Interpretive
leaflets for this self-guiding trail are available at the Zion
Canyon Visitor Center, and usually at the trailhead. The
trailside environment, quite different from that of Zion Canyon,
features plants and animals surviving in a rock and sand
habitat. Pine Creek has formed a convoluted narrow chasm below
the trail. The trails-end viewpoint offers views of the West and
East Temples, Towers of the Virgin, the Streaked Wall, and other
prominent features of lower Zion Canyon.
TRAILHEAD:
The trail begins at the parking area just beyond the east end
of
the
Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel, 5 miles east of the Zion Canyon Visitor
Center.
Caution:
A series of uneven steps are cut into the sandstone at the start
of this trail, followed by irregular rock and sand surfaces.
Supervise children closely near vertical drop-offs.
