Enhance your understanding and enjoyment of Zion National Park by taking part in a ranger program. Programs are offered at Zion Canyon and Kolob Canyons from April to September. Topics include geology, plants, animals, human history, and more. If you are visiting Zion in the off-season but still want to participate in adventurous education consider the Zion Canyon Field Institute.

All Ranger-led programs are free. Check the weekly schedules posted at visitor centers and bulletin boards throughout the park for times, places, and subject.

Be prepared to walk one to two miles. Wear sturdy footwear and bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and water.

 

20-minute talks at the Zion Human History Museum. An ideal activity before riding the shuttle.

30-45 minute programs in campground amphitheaters and at Zion Lodge. These programs often feature slide presentations. An inspirational and educational way to spend an evening.

Conducted daily, at 9 am, starting at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center. These tours last approx. 90 minutes. Numbers are limited. Free tickets are available 24 hours in advance at the information desk at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center.
