Junior Ranger Program

 

Hey Kids! Become a Zion Junior Ranger and have fun while learning about Zion National Park
and the natural world.  Becoming a Junior Ranger is a great way to explore your national parks
while learning how you can help take care of them for the future.
 

 


 

Childrens Discovery Program

•What
Children will learn about Zion National Park and the natural world through hands-on
activities, hikes, and lessons designed especially for them.


•Who
Kids ages 6 to 12 accompanied by a parent.


•Where
The Zion Nature Center, located near South Campground.


•When
Daily at 9 am and 11 am. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign-in.


•Wear
Activities are outside, so dress comfortably and appropriately for outdoor activities.
Please bring water. Hats and sunscreen are good on hot, sunny days and rain gear
if the weather looks stormy. Close-toed shoes preferred. No flip-flops.


•Fee
The Children's Discovery Program is free!

Junior Ranger booklets will be
available for 6 to 12 year old children who want to become a Zion Junior Ranger

and earn a Junior Ranger badge.


Check the ranger-led activity schedule for subjects.

The Zion Natural History Association provides additional funding for this program.

 

 
   

Junior Ranger Activity Booklet: Children ages 6 to 12 can earn a Junior Ranger badge by completing an activity booklet during their visit. Booklets are available at the visitor centers and museum

Junior Ranger Helper:  Children under 6 years old can earn a Junior Ranger Helper decal by completing an activity sheet during their visit. Activity sheets are available at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center.
