•Your message must include the following information:

•To request a reservation, visitors may contact the park by fax or e-mail.  Up to three prioritized dates may be chosen.  Trip dates will be awarded by lottery.  Applicants will only receive one trip date.

•These dates will be strictly observed. A limited number of permits may be available on a walk-in basis the day before an intended trip.

•Only one application per name or e-mail address will be accepted for each month.  The person who is named in the reservation must pick up the permit and must participate in the hike.  All applicants must be 18 years of age.

•All applicants will be notified of the status of their reservation no later than one month prior to their trip.

•Lottery winners can pick up their permit the day before or the day of their trip.  Permits will be available at either the Zion Canyon or Kolob Canyons Visitor Centers.

•To increase your odds of success, select days other than Fridays and Saturdays.

•Large groups increase impacts on the backcountry.Group size is limited to a maximum of 12 people sharing the same affiliation (school, club, scout troop, family, friends) in the same drainage, route, or backcountry trail on the same day. This is strictly enforced; violators will be cited.
