Yosemite National Park News Release September 15, 2005 For Immediate Release Climber Falls from Half Dome A rock climber fell to his death while rock climbing in Yosemite National Park yesterday, September 14, 2005. Bela Feher, 35, of San Diego, California, was rock climbing near the "Slab Route" on the face of Half Dome, when he apparently fell 100 to 150 feet. Park Rangers were notified when his body was discovered by other rock climbers at 11:00 A.M. yesterday. Feher had technical rock climbing gear and apparently was attempting to climb the face of Half Dome. He was climbing alone.
