Effective immediately, DESTINET is no longer handling campground reservations for
Yosemite National Park. All existing reservations at Upper Pines and Lower Pines campgrounds
in Yosemite Valley will be honored. The suspension of the campground reservation system in
no way affects lodging reservations handled by Yosemite Concession Services.
No new campground reservations will be accepted until a new system is put in place. All
campsites have been reserved in these campgrounds for the next three weekends. A limited
number of campsites will now be available in person on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors
who need to cancel a campground reservation in Yosemite can call (209) 372-8502 between 9:00
a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Visitors with reservations need to bring their confirmation number with
them and proceed to the park campground office on arrival.
In Yosemite Valley, Upper Pines and Sunnyside Walk-in campgrounds are open year-
round. Lower Pines campground will close for the season November 9. Outside Yosemite
Valley, Hodgdon Meadow campground and a portion of the Wawona campground are open all
year. All other campgrounds are closed for the season.
The national campground
reservation system was suspended due to termination of the contract with DESTINET.
Details of the contract termination are not available.
The National Park Service apologizes for any inconvenience this temporary interruption
of advanced campground reservation services may cause visitors. It is anticipated a new national
reservation system will be fully operational in time for the 1998 summer camping season.
