Before You Arrive: Field Trip Day

Before you leave school:

• Call Yosemite’s 24-hour road and weather recording
• Check student preparedness
• Check for extra water, snacks, rain gear, etc.
• Make sure students understand their accountability

When you arrive in Yosemite:

• Review chaperon responsibilities
• Set student expectations
• Present itinerary to students
• Review being resource-wise
• Review safety guidelines
• Teach on-site lessons found in the Yosemite in Depth Teaching Suggestions links

DON'T FORGET: First aid kits, student medications, permission slips, nametags, and bathroom breaks!
