How High is High?

Yosemite’s waterfalls defied measurement by members of the Mariposa Battalion, who gazed on Bridalveil and Yosemite Falls in 1851. Later, geological surveys came closer to the figures that we know today:

Waterfalls in Yosemite Valley

(in feet)
Upper Yosemite Fall
Middle Cascade
Lower Yosemite Fall
Nevada Fall
Vernal Fall
Bridalveil Fall
Illilouette Fall
Ribbon Fall
The Cascades
1,430

Note: Yosemite Falls is actually made up of two waterfalls and a cascade — Upper Yosemite Fall, Middle Cascade, and Lower Yosemite Fall.
