While traveling to Old Faithful, Theresa Johnson happened to spy a grizzly bear wearing a collar about a mile from the Old Faithful Inn. When the sighting was reported to the Bear Management Office, Susan Chin, who maintains the bear sightings report, said that it was "subadult bear #427 and was trapped in Bridge Bay campground last year for possibly crushing tents. The collar was covered with red tape so he could be easily identified if he was indeed the tent crushing bear."
