This Month in Yellowstone
There are Bison in My Yard

Bison stop for a snack in the front yard of a Mammoth residence.

It can be difficult to get back to the office if you stop home during the work day in Yellowstone. On March 18, Tom Cawley (Web Coordinator) ran into a bit of a problem getting back to his car when a small herd of bison decided to dine on his front lawn. After using the fire hydrant as a scratching post one young bison found a dangling chain fascinating. Fortunately, bison tend to wander while they graze so Tom wasn't delayed very long. This video was shot in the staff housing area in Lower Mammoth, just down the hill from Fort Yellowstone.
