Congratulations!!!
Correct! Jackrabbits don't have antlers or horns.

You made the correct choice. While Jackrabbits don't have antlers or horns it is fun to see what they would look like if they did.  Why don't you go back and pick the pair of antlers or horns you think would look funniest on a Jackrabbit.

FUN FACTS ABOUT JACKRABBITS:

  • Jackrabbits are not rabbits at all but rather hares. Hares are born with hair and start moving around and eating vegetation shortly after birth. Rabbits are hairless and totally dependent on their mothers after birth.
  • Their big ears act as effective sound collectors and air conditioners. They help dissipate body heat.
  • The jackrabbits that live in Yellowstone are called white-tailed jackrabbits.
  • White-tailed jackrabbits have bright yellow eyes.
  • Yellowstone’s jackrabbits live in the sagebrush and grasslands.
  • They hide in brush to avoid predators but if detected can attain speeds of 40 mph to avoid being caught.
  • When the days get shorter in the fall the decreasing light triggers a change in the color of the white-tailed jackrabbit's coat. It turns white which helps camouflage the jackrabbit against the snow.
  • The jackrabbit was named after the donkey’s more common nickname because of its long donkey-like ears.
