The little canyon that carried the river below, looked very inviting downstream, so I continued to walk the trail along the canyon rim. In just a couple hundred yards the canyon widened to show a verdent meadow  below the cliff where I stood.

There are many short walks such as this that can lead you to waterfalls, cascades, canyons, awe-inspiring cliffs, and precipices. While visiting be sure to spend some time on backcountry trails.
