Pre-Performance Preview Series

Come join us on the Old Farmhouse Lawn for one of Wolf Trap’s longest running Interpretive Programs! Pre-Performance previews range from lectures to demonstrations and offer insight and interpretation of the evening’s performance. Previews are offered on select evenings, in conjunction with the Filene Center summer concert series. Previews start one hour before the scheduled show time and end with plenty of time to reach your seat before the show starts. For additional information call (703) 255-1893.

Nature Walks

Join a Park Ranger and explore the environment of Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts! Children can learn about plants, animals, water, and how to take care of our Earth. Nature Walk topics are rotated throughout the summer, so check with a Ranger on the day's topics. Nature Walks are offered late-June through early-August in conjunction with the Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods performances. They begin at 12:15 and 12:30 at the footbridge near the Theatre-in-the-Woods. (For children 5 and older, must be accompanied by an adult.)

Junior Ranger Program

Park Rangers help protect our national parks. Junior Rangers at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts can help protect and preserve this park so other visitors can come learn about the park and enjoy the performing arts.

To become a Junior Ranger, complete 6 of the 8 activities in the Junior Ranger Activity Book, have a Park Ranger review the book, and you’ll be presented with Wolf Trap’s official Junior Ranger Patch. Recommended for children K – 5th grade.

Activity Books are available all year at the Ranger Station. During the summer season, books are available at the footbridge, near the entrance to the Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods.
