Women's Rights National Historical Park Release Date: 6/10/02 JUNIOR
RANGER SUMMER CAMP AND RANGER FOLLIES AT
Morning sessions will highlight the exciting history of the 1840s and 1850s at park sites and local attractions in Seneca Falls and Waterloo. Led by Rangers Jamie Wolfe and Elizabeth (Liz) Povero, the sessions include a hands-on workshop at the printshop, discovery tours, and activities in the visitor center. “This year’s program will be exciting and fun because Junior Rangers will learn about the important history here, and then have a chance to be creative,” said Liz Povero. Pam Bryan, veteran producer/director of youth theater productions will guide the afternoon performing arts workshops. Each day will feature a different performing art. By the end of the week, Junior Rangers will have built their own set, designed their own costumes, and rehearsed their own presentation about the 1840s and 1850s. On Saturday, July 20, the park will celebrate the 154th anniversary of the first women’s rights convention with the 2 pm performance of the Junior Ranger Follies. Family, friends, and the general public will be invited to attend the performance. Applications
are available at the park Visitor Center, 136 Fall Street, by phone at
315.568.5234, or on the web at ww.nps.wori/jr.rangerappl1.htm. The program
fee is $25.00 (lunch is not included). Please register early. Registration
