William Howard Taft National Historic Site is celebrating Christmas, Victorian-style. On Saturday December 10, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. get into the Christmas spirit the old-fashioned way by making your very own Christmas craft. Handmade gifts were a staple of Victorian Christmases and you can decorate your Christmas craft in various holiday ways guaranteed to bring a smile to the face of someone special. We will provide the materials free of charge and all you need to bring is your imagination. You will also have the chance to meet “Father Christmas,” an eagerly anticipated Yuletide visitor to Victorian homes during the Christmas holiday season. And in keeping with the Christmas spirit, Father Christmas will not be arriving empty-handed. Hot cider, cookies, and punch will be served during his visit and he will be giving away candy canes. Children will be able to get a picture taken with Father Christmas as a souvenir of their visit. Tours of the decorated Taft house will be provided and horse-drawn carriage rides through the historic Mount Auburn neighborhood will be available from 1-4 p.m..
