Red Crossbill (Loxia curvirostra)
Gray Catbird - Dumetella carolinensis

This relative of the mockingbird is usually heard before it is seen. The catbird likes the densest shrubbery, and it typically lives in forest edges, usually avoiding pine forests. The catbird can sometimes be observed near the visitor center, near eye-level or lower to the ground. Its cat-like, descending mew call can be heard during the summer months. First observed around early May.
