In honor of the 60th anniversary of the Liberation of Guam, the War in the Pacific NHP will be hosting six different exhibits at the CAHA art gallery at Two Lovers' Point during the month of July.
The highlight of the exhibit will be the "Planes and Pinups: A Traveling Exhibit". This is the most recent exhibit created by the park and the Arizona Museum Memorial Association. This exhibit is about aircraft nose art and includes two large, informative panels, a slide show featuring the various images that appeared on the noses of aircrafts in the Pacific Theater of WWII, and a video that discusses the role of "nose art" in the Pacific and its relation to the island- hopping campaign.
In addition to the nose art exhibit from War in the Pacific NHP, there are also five other exhibits that will be displayed over the next month. The Admiral Nimitz Museum in Fredricksburg, Texas, generously agreed to lend five exhibits to the park; These exhibits include "Risque Business", "But Not in Shame", "Yamamoto", "Women in WWII", and "Operation Cactus".
The exhibit will run for one month. Gallery hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The gallery is closed on Sunday.
