Western National Parks Association
This is the cooperating association for the monument, providing financial support. Their financial support provides publication funding, produces and sells interpretive material, provides information services Information Assistant positions, and makes research grants. Sales outlets exist through out the southwest.FLAG Foundation
The Flagstaff National Monuments Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that supports the three National Monuments in the Flagstaff, AZ area (Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater Volcano, and Wupatki). The Foundation assists the parks by generating and managing private sector funds generated through outright donations, memberships, grants, gifts, and endowments for interpretive educational, research, and resource protection needs or other activities or projects requiring supplemental non-appropriated funds.
U.S. Forest Service
Provides cooperative partnership with the National Park Service. NPS interpreters perform programs at campgrounds managed by the U.S. Forest Service. Interpreters under the partnership divide their time between the national monuments and national forest often times working side-by-side. Joint efforts are made between the agencies for protection of managed land.
Northern Arizona University
Student interns have participated in interpretive programs at campgrounds and programs throughout the park. Faculty members are often called upon for interpretive training in specific subject matter as well as park staff providing assistance to NAU classes. NAU also assists with many research projects throughout the park.
Museum of Northern Arizona
The museum stores a large number of objects of the parks museum collection. MNA facilitates research of the collection and provides for the long-term care and management of the objects. MNA has provided the park with technical curatorial assistance and sponsored much of the early research conducted in the park.Hopi
The Hopi people serve as the point of contact for consultation on all aspects of interpretation involving Hopi culture and the traditional stories of the park.Navajo Nation
The Navajo Nation serves as a point of contact for consultation on all aspects of interpretation involving Navajo culture and the history of the park.
