61^st Tennessee Infantry

Multiple monument located on the north side of Confederate Avenue approximately .2 mile east of Fort Hill (Park Tour Stop #9). Also two trench markers located on the north side of Confederate Avenue starting approximately .3 miles east of Fort Hill (Park Tour Stop #9). This unit was attached to Brig. Gen. John C. Vaughn's 2nd Brigade, Maj. Gen. Martin Luther Smith's Division in Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's Army of Vicksburg and was commanded by Col. Fountain E. Pitts & Lt. Col. James G. Rose.
