49^th Tennessee Infantry

Multiple Monument located on the south side of Confederate Avenue at the Tennessee Memorial. This unit was attached to Brig. Gen. Samuel B. Maxey's Brigade of Maj. Gen. Samuel G. French's Division (organized 21 June 1863), Gen. Joseph E. Johnston's Army of Relief, Department of the West and was commanded by Lt. Col. W. A. Shaw & Maj. David A. Lynn.
