6^th Mississippi Infantry (Detachment)

Monument located on Confederate Avenue 100 yards east of Fort Hill (Park Tour Stop #9). Also a trench marker located on the north side of Confederate Ave. Just east of Fort Hill (Park Tour Stop #9). This unit was an unattached command in Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's Army of Vicksburg and was commanded by Maj. J. R. Stevens.
