Maryland State Memorial

 

The Maryland State Memorial is located outside of Vicksburg National Military Park on former park property in the City of Vicksburg. It is situated on south Confederate Avenue approximately .2 miles south of the Mulvihill Street intersection. The memorial consists of a bronze tablet mounted on a granite pedestal. It is a commemoriative tablet to the 3rd Maryland Battery under the command of Ferdinand O. Claiborne. The memorial was dedicated in March of 1914.
