25th Arkansas Infantry

 

This unit was consolidated with the 31st Arkansas Infantry and attached to Brig. Gen. Evander McNair’s Brigade of Maj. Gen. Samuel G. French’s Division (organized 21 June 1863), Gen. Joseph E. Johnston’s Army of Relief, Department of the West and was commanded by Col. T. H. McCray. Col. Charles J. Turnbull, listed as in command of the 25th was second in command as the 25th & 31st consolidated during the siege under McCray. The unit is listed on a regimental marker to Arkansas units in Johnston’s Army of Relief, Department of the West.
