Planning a Visit on Pearl Harbor Day
The 64th Pearl Harbor Day Commemoration will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2005. The theme of the program is First to Fight: Reservists at Pearl Harbor. Along with paying tribute to those service members who made the ultimate sacrifice, the ceremony will highlight the role of reservists at Pearl Harbor.
Special Event Plans
The USS Arizona Memorial commemorates Pearl Harbor Day annually on the seventh of December. The ceremony is held shore-side from 7:40 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the USS Arizona Memorial visitor center. The program is free of charge and open to the public. General seating begins at 7:20 a.m. Attendees should allow an extra 15 minutes for parking and security. The civilian dress code is Aloha crisp attire. Military dress is summer whites or service dress equivalent with ribbons, no medals.
Normal tours to the USS Arizona Memorial begin at 10:45 a.m. The program is 75-minutes in duration with free tickets issued on a first-come, first-served basis. The last program begins at 3:00 p.m. The program consists of a 23-minute documentary film and a U.S. Navy water taxi ride to the USS Arizona Memorial. There will be no transportation to the memorial during the ceremony.

Floral Offerings – Guests may take a flower and a Pearl Harbor Casualty Inscription to the USS Arizona Memorial. The flower may be dropped into the water to honor the dead.
Security
Strict security measures prohibit: purses, handbags, fanny packs, backpacks, camera bags, diaper bags, luggage or other items of concealment. Suitcases and luggage will not be accepted for storage.
Getting There
By Car – From the Honolulu/Waikiki area, take either Ala Moana Blvd./Nimitz Highway or H-1 Freeway West. While on H-1, look for the USS Arizona / Stadium exit (#15A). The USS Arizona Memorial is located on State Highway 99 (Kamehameha Highway) about a 45-minute drive west of Waikiki.
Public Transportation – Honolulu public transit buses stop regularly at the Visitor Center and can be boarded in Waikiki. The #20 and #42 bus will take you to the USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center.
