Notes: Padre Río was one of the original fourteen Franciscan missionaries led by Padre Mariano Antonio Buena y Alcalde to arrive in the Pimería Alta after the Jesuit expulsion. After being assistant to Padre Buena at Tubutama, he took charge of of that mission when Buena was reassigned to Ures in late 1768. He travelled to Mexico in 1770 on behalf of the Pimería Alta missions. By the fall of that year he was back at Ures as the assistant to Padre Buena.
