San
Xavier
Race or Tribe: Español
Notes: He came
to New Spain in 1750 but did not come to the Pimeria Alta until 1753 when
his church on the east of the Sierra Madre was secularized. He served
briefly at San Ignacio, Caborca,
and Guevavi before being assigned to a permanent
station at San Xavier del Bac. In 1764 he
went back to San Ignacio but returned to Bac in January of 1765.
Becoming ill once again he was re-assigned to San Ignacio. Late in
1765 he was assigned to Átil where he remained
until the expulsion. He was imprisoned at Yuste, Spain, where he
remained until his death.
