Yucca was very important to the Salado. Dried roots were soaked in water to produce lather. Leaf fibers were used to make rope, sandals, and mats. The baked fruit tastes like a sweet potato; the flowers are also edible. Move your cursor across the yucca flowers to see the fruit.
