Body length: 8"
Diet: Insects, nectar, fruit
Voice: A series of whistles, chatters, and warbles
Nest: A basket of plant fibers hanging from branches or eaves. 3-5 white eggs, blotched with dark brown and purple.

Hooded Orioles often pierce the base of flowers with their sharp beak in order to get at the nectar. They originally preferred streamside growth, but have adapted to urban areas.

This species is heavily parasitized by the Bronzed Cowbird.
