Body length: 8 3/4"
Diet: Fruit, insects, and seeds
Voice: A loud, liquid whistle with many variations - cheer cheer cheer; purty purty purty, or cue cue cue.
Nest: A deep cup of twigs, leaves, and plant fibers. 3 or 4 pale green eggs, spotted with red-brown.

These beautiful birds have greatly expanded their range during the 20th century. At Tonto National Monument, they are quite common in the Visitor Center parking lot.
