do you know about animals, and their tracks? Test your knowledge with
Who Am I? Ready
to redecorate your cliff dwelling? Need a new pair of sandals? How about
a dress shirt? Be sure to check out the great deals at Saladomart. Do cactus have skeletons? Are a gila monster's "beads" just on the skin? To answer these questions, and more, visit Insides/Outsides! |
Tonto
National Monument has two Junior Ranger booklets available. One requires
hiking the Cactus Patch Trail and answering questions along the way; the
other contains games and puzzles, and is geared toward families who do
not have time to complete the hike. A Junior Ranger badge is awarded upon
completion. There is no charge for the Junior Ranger program. |

Group Visits Elementary schools are not the only groups who can visit Tonto National Monument! We welcome everyone from preschoolers through senior citizens. Reservations are strongly recommended, as we may already have other groups scheduled for that day. The Lower
Cliff Dwelling trail, museum, and video are available throughout the year.
Ask about scheduling special programs or activities. Educational groups
may qualify for a waiver of fees. |
Outreach Project Desert is an environmental education program, originally developed for 4th grade classes in Miami, AZ. The 6 week course is designed to foster a familiarity with both natural and cultural resources. Through a combination of lecture and hands-on activities, students are introduced to 5 key words: environment, ecology, preservation, conservation, and stewardship, as well as the archeological resources of the American Southwest. |
