

Stone knives
were used to harvest agave. The hearts of these plants were roasted in pits
and made a nutritious food, which tastes like molasses. Move
your cursor over the photograph to see a close-up view of the serrated edge.
This would have been made by carefully chipping away the edge of the blade,
possibly using an antler.
